Billabong acquires Sector 9

Good for Sector 9.  Years ago, Sector 9 realized there was a need for skateboards people didn’t need to feel like a poser on if they weren’t ollieing.  Likewise, there was also a need for boards that would carve differently downhill.

While not everyone backs the idea of Sector 9, I have a few long/cruiser boards (including one from the Cosmic Series) and they’re definitely fun to ride.  Pumping turns on a downhill on one of these is definitely a different sensation… closer to surfing or snowboarding than modern skateboarding.  Which is ok by me (and yes, I do ride a “normal” skateboard too… i can even ollie, albeit not nearly as well as in my youth).
